Plugg 2009: cursa europeană a companiilor start-up (English version included)

 

Companiile româneşti aflate la început de drum au ocazia să participe la un concurs european al start-up-urilor, aflat în acest an la a doua ediţie. Înscrierile la Start-Ups Rally din cadrul conferinţei Plugg 2009 se încheie în 4 februarie, la miezul nopţii.

Evenimentul din 12 martie, de la Bruxelles, va avea două componente: prezentări specializate ale unor persoane influente în domeniul Web 2.0 şi un concurs al firmelor tinere care activează pe Web.

După înscriere, un juriu profesionist îi va alege pe finalişti. Aceştia au ocazia de a-şi prezenta la Bruxelles compania şi planul de afaceri. În urma votului juriului şi al publicului, vor fi acordate premiile Plugg Start-Up of the Year şi cel de popularitate.

Anul trecut, câştigătorii au fost companiile Viewdle şi Zilok.

Firmele candidate trebuie să îndeplinească un set de condiţii:

  • Să fie companie privată, cu proiecte legate de Web, telefonia mobilă, industria mashup 2.0
  • Să nu fi beneficiat de mai mult de o rundă de finanţare instituţională
  • Să adopte tehnologii inovatoare, să răspundă la o problemă actuală de pe piaţă
  • Să demonstreze ambiţie şi potenţial
  • Să aibă legătura cu Europa (prin sediu, fondatori, mod de finanţare, planuri de extindere etc.)

Înscrierile se fac pe un minisite oficial şi nu există taxă de intrare în concurs.

Plugg 2009: the European Rally of Start-Ups

Newly established Romanian start-ups have to chance to compete in the second edition of an european contest. Registrations for the Plug 2009 Start-Ups Rally are open until February the 4th, at midnight.

The event taking place in Brussels will have two components: speeches and presentations of some influent people in the business and media sectors and a competition of young Web companies.

After registration closing, a professional jury will choose the finalists. They will have the opportunity to introduce their company and business plan in Brussels. After the voting, the jury and the audience will offer two prizes - the Plugg Start-Up of the Year Award 2009 and the popular choice award.

Last year, the winners were Viewdle and Zilok.

The candidate companies will have to meet the following criteria, in order to be registered:

  • Established private companies in the web, mobile, enterprise and/or mashup 2.0 industry
  • A maximum of one institutional round of financing raised
  • Breakthrough innovation in technology or services
  • International ambition and potential
  • Linked to Europe (location, founders, funding, expansion plans...)

Registration is open on an official minisite. There is no registration fee.
