TVR will sell its advertising through its own sales house and wants Champions League games

TVR’s Management Board decided to start a company that would handle the advertising sales for the state TV.

In this direction, the board decided to cancel the auction organized to buy management and advertising sales services for Romanian TV’s advertising spaces and to create a commission with the mission to prepare a project on founding a sales house with 100% capital from TVR.

Starting October 2011, the advertising sales for TVR was managed by Sales & Marketing Direction in TVR. That happened after, on September 27th 2011, TVR’s Management board decided to renounce to the contract it had with Splendid Media sales house.

According to Romanian Public TV, TVR has to retrieve from Splendid Media, that managed TVR’s advertising space sales until 2011, almost RON 30M.

TVR’s board members decided that, during the next meeting and after analyzing an argumentation note from Sports Department and Economic Direction, to decide over the opportunity of buying broadcasting rights for UEFA Champions League and Europe’s SuperCup for 2012-2015.
