CNA will launch, on February 8th, at Parliament’s Palace, a debate over the modifications that could be operated within the Audiovisual Law, Laura Georgescu, CNA president, announced.

“On February 8th, which is next Friday, we have a debates-marathon (…) under the tagline , which will end with signing a protocol and there is where you will be able to see a first debate on what we intend to modify”, Georgescu said. The protocol at the end of the debate is to be signed between CNA and “all NGO-s and societies that have activities related to the freedom of speech”.

“There are changes imposed by the reality of the 10 years since the law is functional. There are no modifications related to restricting the freedom of speech. Please pay attention; that is the reason for the debate, so everyone would understand that any fundamental right functions in internal and external normal limits. When you go beyond them, you enter the abuse zone. We are talking about freedom of speech as long as it complies with some regulatory criteria”, Laura Georgescu added.
