YouTube.ro is seen also as a platform for content creators, broadcasters, advertising agencies and brands.
At the launch, YouTube also comes with a licencing agreement with Romanian Musicologists and Composers Union, which will allow the artists to obtain incomes from the views for their content.
Dan Bulucea, Country Manager Google Romania: “Many members of the global YouTube community are already viewing Romanian content. The launch of the local YouTube version gives new opportunities for talented creators in the country, offering them the chance to be discovered easier, both in Romania and abroad. The users will have easier access to content made in Romania”.
Among the first partners YouTube closed agreements with were Roton, Cat Music, Hahaha Production, MediaPro Music and TVR. Those partners decided to publish on YouTube their own content.
“YouTube.ro offers users the option to have access right from the start page to local videos, most viewed in Romania and with the highest increase in number of views during that period”, Bulucea added
“Who wants to see content on YouTube.com can do that also now, as someone from South America can see content optimized for Romania”, Damien Viel, Head of Video and Branding Sales Development SEEMEA Google, said.
