Dan Diaconescu wants to reopen OTV on another licence, after the TV was closed, 5 months ago, for not paying the fines applied to it by CNA.

Diaconescu took over 2 Romanian and 2 foreign licences and said he won’t be the owner in the documentation of the new OTV and of the other channels, with major shareholder scheduled to be his collaborator, Diana Voiculescu.

He said he has 2 licence that broadcast in EU, that can be used for broadcasting anytime, without being forced to have any direct relations with CNA, but only with cable providers. Also, Diaconescu intends to submit CNA a request to modify the name of one of the Romanian licence and said he will relaunch the TV as soon as possible.
Diaconescu also stated he “wants to make peace” with CNA if the institution approves the name change for a Romanian licence; he also added he would drop the lawsuit with the institution
