Romanian prime minister: The government is ready to remove from the Criminal Code the provisions on press liberty

Romanian Government is prepaired to modify, with an Emergency Ordinance, the new Romanian Criminal Code that will start producing effects on February 1st, in order to eliminate the provisions that are limitating the freedom of expression and the freedom of press, Victor Ponta, Romanian Prime Minister, stated, according to Mediafax.

Ponta said, on Antena 3, that he had discussions on this matter with the minister of Justice and that it is taken in consideration the option of adopting an Emergency Ordinance if adopting a law on the matter will take too long.
