RON 160,000 fines for news TVs for Sergiu Nicolaescu “case”



Romanian news TVs got RON 160,000 fines for breaking Audiovisual Law when it came of covering the death of the Romanian director Sergiu Nicolaescu. Realitatea TV got a RON 10,000 fine, Antena 3 – RON 20,000, B1TV – RON 30,000, while RTV got the highest fine, of RON 100,000. CNA members considered that news TVs didn’t respected legislation’s articles on human dignity, the right to a private life and promoted information insufficiently verified.
