Initiative: Ads on TV won’t be louder than other programs


cna rasvan popescuThe viewers won’t have to deal anymore with the loud sound in commercials when the commercials breaks start, as the difference of sound between programs and advertising will be eliminated.


The industry representatives aims to do this and that’s why they formed a work group – Loudness – that has as mission to elaborate the standard for the level of loudness, aimed to normalize and uniformize the sound in radio and TV programs. The work group includes representatives from broadcasters, cable networks and production studios.

The purpose of the group is to elaborate a recommendation for CNA that will help eliminate the differences of sound between the advertising breaks and TV programs. CNA will decide, afterwards, if the recommendation will be assumed as a decision or will remain a recommendation.
