Laura Georgescu, CNA’s president, proposed to launch a decision project that would force TVs to put on the screen, between ad breaks, a timer to counter the ad minutes. She said CNA receives all the time complains related to the commercials broadcasted during programs and proposed to time the ads .

According to law, TVs can broadcast 12 minutes of commercial advertising per hour, with SRTV’s channels able to broadcast just 8 minutes.

The discussions started after CNA presented the periodical monitoring for ad inserts in March. According to the document, Realitatea TV surpassed the limit by 5 minutes, the most among the analyzed TVs.

Georgescu’s proposal was submitted to vote and it didn’t passed, with CNA members seeming to vote for TVs interests rather than for public.
