2 CNA members, in incompatibility: Rasvan Popescu and Christian Mititelu. ANI announced the authorities in Popescu’s case

Romanian National Integrity Agency (ANI) discovered that Christian Mititelu is incompatible with the position of CNA member and that criminal conflict of interests regime was overstepped by Rasvan Popescu, former CNA president, according to a document published recently and relayed by Realitatea.net.

Christian Mititelu was in incompatibility with its status as a member of CNA between November 4th 2008 – December 15th 2012, as he was, simultaneously, duties as President and Vice-President of the association “Civic Alliance” and as CNA member (a position assimilated to the one of Secretary of State).

On the other hand, ANI announced that Rasvan Popescu disrespected the juridical regime on criminal conflicts of interests because, as CNA member (terms 2006 – 2012, 2012 – 2018) and as CNA president (June 29th 2007 – December 19th 2012), in exercising its job duties, he was involved in solving requests and participated in making decision that saw licence authorizations given to PRO TV S.A. Also, Rasvan Popescu had commercial relations with Media Pro Pictures and benefited of patrimonial benefits in total value of Euro 15,000.

From the evaluation activity resulted that both PRO TV S.A. and MEDIA PRO PICTURES S.A. (commercial company from which Rasvan Popescu received material benefits of Euro 15,000) have the same shareholder, CME Investments B.V, an ANI press release shows.

Rasvan Popescu could be the subject of a criminal investigation

ANI announced the judicial authorities in order to verify the facts related to Rasvan Popescu committing the conflicts of interests crime.
The evaluated people were informed about the start of the evaluation procedures, the elements identified and the rights they have – to be assisted or represented by a lawyer and to present data or information they consider needed, personally or in writing. Rasvan Popescu didn’t submit to the evaluation file a written point of view to exercise his right to defense
