Burda bought Sanoma Romania. The transaction will be finalized after Competition Council’s ok


burdaBurda International GmbH bought all Sanoma Hearst activities in Romania, resulting a group with 35 titles and more than 40 online media services.


Fabrizio D’Angelo, CEO Burda International:

“We inherited strong and solid brands in Romania. We will create a modern media company, that will be well positioned to profit all the opportunities on the online media and publications market in Romania in the following years”.

According to the company, Burda becomes one of the most important magazine publishers, reaching to over a third of Romanian target public living in urban areas.
Burda Romania’s portfolio includes Practic in bucatarie, Casa Lux, Ioana, Gradina mea de vis and others, to which will add Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Esquire, Men’s Health, Auto Motor şi Sport and National Geographic.

Burda International GmbH is active on 17 markets, publishes over 230 magazines and offers an extensive number of digital media services.
