Religious radios were the big winners of the radio frequency contest organized by CNA, with Radio Trinitas, owned by Romanian Patriarchy, getting the most frequencies, 4 out from the total of 20.
Following a CNA vote, 19 thematic frequencies were given.
The big losers of CNA’s contest were Rock FM (Canet Radio SRL Bucureşti, that demanded 8 frequencies), Radio Figaro and Romantic FM (Global Media Camina – 7 frequencies), Digi Sport FM (RCS&RDS Bucureşti – demanded 11 frequencies).
Related to the contest, CNA members Narcisa Iorga and Valentin Jucan accused it to have been rigged. Other 2 CNA members made statements on the matter, but Laura Georgescu refused to comment their statements, saying that is forbidden by CNA’s Ethical Code.
The contest for CNA’s frequencies started on November 25th, with 42 companies fighting for a total of 27 licenses.
