RCS eliminated from its programs schedule VH1 right at the end of music channel’s administration contract with Pro TV

 

vh1logo_2RCS&RDS modified its programs schedule last night, with VH1 being removed, along with Film Café, and new TVs being added: Eurosport’s HD channels, Comedy Central Extra, History HD, Viasat Nature/ History HD.

Removing VH1 from the schedule comes shortly after the music TV ended its administration contract with Pro TV SA and went to Viacom. Starting January 1st, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) is handling the distribution and advertising sales for VH1, after the contract with CME expired.

RCS didn’t officially announced those modification.

The info on those schedule’s modifications wasn’t confirmed officially by RCS representatives. The company didn’t announce that it will remove VH1 and Film Café or that it will introduce History HD, Viasat Nature/ History HD and Comedy Central Extra, according to Mediafax.

According to viewers, the schedule modifications – initially believed to be made only in Bucharest – weren’t covering only Romanian capital.

According to comments posted on RCS&RDS FAcebook page, the modifications related to VH1, Film Café, Comedy Central Extra, History HD, Viasat Nature/ History HD, Eurosport HD and Eurosport 2 HD were already operated in other Romanian towns where RCS has digital cable networks, not just in Bucharest.

When it comes of VH1 – owned by Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) - RCS&RDS informed CNA on the expiration of the distribution contract on December 31st . RCS & RDS also informed CNA that the 2 parties are negotiating to prolong the contract, according to a statement made by Laura Georgescu, CNA president, for Mediafax.
