„Green Book”, cu Viggo Mortensen şi Mahershala Ali, a primit titlul de cel mai bun film al anului.
Mahershala Ali a atras al doilea Oscar din carieră. De data ceasta pentru rolul secundar din filmul „Green Book”. Regina King a atras Oscarul pentru cel mai bun rol secundar feminin, interpretat în filmul „If Beale Street Could Talk”
Premiul pentru cea mai bună animanţie a mers la „Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”.
Succes şi pentru Netflix. Filmul Roma a atras Oscarul pentru cel mai bun film străin şi pentru cel mai bun regizor Alfonso Cuarón. O altă producţie Netflix a atras premiul pentru documentar scurtmetraj. “Period. End of Sentence”, creat de Rayka Zehtabchi.
