Filmul CODA, produs al AppleTV+. a fost marele câştigător al premiilor Oscar 2022. Este pentru prima dată când un film al unei companii de streaming primeşte premiul Oscar.

Actorul Will Smith a luat premiul pentru Cel mai bun actor, pentru rolul său din King Richard, în timp ce Jessica Chastin a fost premiată la categoria Cea mai bună actriţă pentru rolul din The Eyes of Tammy Faye. 

Cel mai bun film de animaţie a fost câştigat de Encanto, în timp ce titlul pentru Cel mai bun film internaţional a mers în Japonia, la „Drive My Car”. 

Billie Elish şi Fineas O’Connel au atras premiul pentru cea mai bună piesă, „No time to die”, de pe coloana sonoră a filmului cu James Bond. 

Ceremonia celei de-a 94-a gale a premiilor Oscar n-a fost lipsită de peripeţii. De data aceasta, mai mult despre câştigători s-a dsicutat despre momentul în care actorul Will Smith l-a pălmuit pe Chris Rock, pentru că făcuse o glumă despre soţia acestuia, Jada Pinkket Smith.
