Filmul „One Battle After Another” este marele câştigător al celei de-a 98-a ediţii a premiilor Oscar. Thrillerul politic regizat de Paul Thomas Anderson a obţinut şase statuete, inclusiv premiul pentru Cel mai bun film, scrie Variety.
Anderson a câştigat şi premiul pentru Cel mai bun regizor, dar şi pentru Cel mai bun scenariu adaptat.
Pe locul al doilea în topul premiilor s-a situat filmul „Sinners”, cu patru trofee. Printre acestea se numără premiul pentru Cel mai bun scenariu original, semnat de Ryan Coogler, şi premiul pentru Cel mai bun actor în rol principal, câştigat de Michael B. Jordan.
Premiul pentru Cea mai bună actriţă în rol principal a fost câştigat de Jessie Buckley pentru rolul din „Hamnet”, unde interpretează o femeie care încearcă să facă faţă morţii fiului ei.
Michael B. Jordan a câştigat premiul pentru Cel mai bun actor în rol principal pentru interpretarea din „Sinners”.
La categoria roluri secundare, premiile au revenit lui Sean Penn pentru „One Battle After Another” şi lui Amy Madigan pentru „Weapons”.
Premiul pentru Cel mai bun documentar a fost câştigat de „Mr. Nobody Against Putin”, un film despre modul în care Vladimir Putin a restrâns libertatea de exprimare în timpul războiului ruso-ucrainean.
Co-regizorul David Borenstein a vorbit în discursul său despre pericolele autocraţiei.
„‘Mr. Nobody Against Putin’ este despre cum îţi pierzi ţara. O pierzi prin nenumărate mici acte de complicitate”, a spus acesta.
La categoria film de animaţie a câştigat „KPop Demon Hunters”, producţia Netflix care a obţinut şi premiul pentru Cel mai bun cântec original, pentru piesa „Golden”.
